The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for maintaining adequate nursing staff for the facility. The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing federal and state regulations and established company policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Assists in recruiting, selection, and training of potential employees and ensures all staffing needs are met
2. Coordinates, monitors, and adjusts schedules for the nursing departments as required, including daily, weekly and monthly, also covering vacations and holidays
3. Recommends to the Administrator the number and level of personnel to be employed
4. Assists in determining nursing staffing, evaluates employee performance to DON and Administrator concerning wage and salary adjustments, hiring, terminations, and transfers
5. Checks applications and references of prospective employees and arrange for interviews
6. Attends departmental meetings, in-service educational meetings, and on-the-job training
7. Ensures that appropriate training records are maintained for nursing staff
8. Maintains job applications for personnel eligible to work in the facility (including job applications, resumes, reference checks)
9. Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent personnel information in accordance with the Privacy Act, as well as facility policies and procedures
10. Maintains nursing schedules as appropriate
11. Stays well-informed of staffing needs as census increases or decreases
12. Assist in hiring personnel in accordance with established hiring practices
13. Other related duties as assigned by Administrator/Director of Nursing
