Resident Service Manager

Position Overview: People Incorporated of Virginia is accepting applications for the position of Resident Services Manager for its Abingdon, Virginia office. This is a regionally based position to help connect residents in our affordable housing complexes with community resources to improve their lives. You will have the opportunity to network, partner, and engage with other community organizations to bring opportunities and resources to our residents. You will also join a fun, dynamic, and engaged team under our Planning and Evaluation Department. The position covers a four-county region and will be based out of People Inc.'s main office in Abingdon, VA

• Good organizational skills: This position requires an ability to keep track of deadlines and manage work to ensure that files and documents are orderly and accessible by multiple staff.
• Customer services skills: The position requires phone, email, and written communication with a wide range of people including community partners, our residents, and staff across the organization. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate clearly and professionally with all these parties, ensuring that people have a positive experience with People Incorporated.
• Communication skills: Interested applicant must be able to be an effective communicator and a good listener. You will be interacting with individuals in a wide socioeconomic and demographic range. Your ability to interact with all individuals is a key component for this position.
• Teamwork: This position is part of a small team, and while most work is done individually, will need to collaborate frequently across departments, staff, and partners. Additionally, this position will also work closely with the property management and development teams to support their goals and needs. The ideal candidate will be able to work with others to solve problems and execute job duties.
• Computer skills: This position requires some data entry into a couple of our database systems to track progress, partner participation, programs, and the use of Microsoft office products (Excel, Word, OneDrive, etc.) to maintain records and prepare reports. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with maintaining electronic files.
• Travel: This position covers a large geographical area in our Northern Region, so driving to different localities for meetings, events, and resident support will be frequent.
