Housekeeping Supervisor Summary: Housekeeper Supervisors are responsible for planning and directing the day-to-day organization and long term operations of the Housekeeping department. Ensuring the cleanliness and preparation of all spaces so they are clean, fully stocked, and in good working order, allows us to deliver on an exceptional experience for our guests. Housekeeping Supervisors also contribute to the overall safety and security of the hotel by reporting damage, following safety rules, and assisting in emergency situations.
Responsibilities:
Supervises the hotel’s housekeeping and laundry operations team, specifically.
Helps planning the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department.
Assigns rooms to Room Attendants.
Oversee laundry operations.
Assigns special cleaning duties on a daily basis.
Manages master key distribution and with room attendants.
Ensures guest’s special requests are completed appropriately.
Ensures room cleanliness meets standards by conducting daily inspections of all rooms and areas.
Reviews and completes weekly department schedule to accommodate hotel’s needs.
Attract, train, develop and retain a high-performance team; provide encouragement and correction as appropriate.
Focus on quality and service in all areas of housekeeping, ensuring that standard operating procedures are adhered to always.
Ensure health and safety standards are taught and adhered to; must have knowledge of the equipment, chemicals and supplies used.
Monitor consumption and ensure that proper par levels are maintained for all materials needed for rooms division.
Report any damage, mechanical problems, or missing room equipment/items.
Maintain Lost and Found items securely and follow proper documentation and procedures.
Ensure deep cleaning programs are maintained per standards.
Attend management meetings to ensure department meets the daily, weekly and monthly needs of the hotel.
Requirements:
Preferred cadidate will have experience in the Hilton system.
2-3 yrs. housekeeping experience.
At least 1 year of prior housekeeping supervisory experience.
7 day a week availability.
Some computer skills, experience with scheduling & Hotel Effectiveness program will be pluses.
Must have a professional, warm, and approachable disposition.
Must be able to successfully prioritize and complete tasks through team members in prescribed timeframe and manage workflow.
Effectively communicate with team members, management team and guests.
Good eye for detail.
Working knowledge of public spaces, rooms and equipment used in housekeeping department.
Fluently read, write and speak English.
Demonstrated ability to remain level-headed in hectic and tense situations
