The Technical Ceramics business of Morgan Advanced Materials engineers high performance functional and structural ceramic materials, components and sub-assemblies to address customer-specific technical challenges.

Responsibilities
Provide HR leadership and direction to achieve business objectives by administering, developing and implementing programs in the areas of compensation, recruiting, industrial relations, employee benefits, payroll, communication, employee recognition, training, development and EHS programs. The role is an opportunity to join a global, dynamic, Hi-Tech team, supporting the medical and aerospace industries. We are the industry leader in development and manufacturer of ceramic to metal seals for both Aerospace and Medical markets. We help improve the quality of life with our implantable medical components, and we ensure the safety of travelers by developing multiple components for the Aerospace industry. The Senior Manager position will support a two site with over 1000 employees and have full HR Accountability as well as lead an HR Team. The ideal incumbent will be enjoy being hands on and visible to the Site employees, proven experience supporting dynamic work environments with complex initiatives, inlcuding HR investigations, implementing standardized process, and actively engaging and communicating with employees and Site Leadership. Responsibilities include:
- Develops programs to enhance employee engagement, improve relations and offers employee support.
- Implementation and continuous improvement in plant HR policies, procedures, and programs.
- Mediator, counselor, and facilitator in resolving disputes between employees and their supervisors and managers.
- Educates and trains supervisors and employees on policies, processes, and guidelines in alignment with the regional HR strategy.
- Manages employee transactions including hiring, terminations, discipline, and performance management, etc.
- Drives the Performance Management and Talent development process.
- Manages and updates employee data and HR systems and completes necessary metrics and reporting..
- Prepares and processes various reports ensuring compliance with company and government regulations.
- Supports overall Benefit programs including health, life, employee assistance, Pension Plans, and retiree benefits. This includes support and training for safety and educational development.
- Administers Family Medical Leave Act in accordance with federal law.
- Supports the deployment of safety programs.
- Supports administration of Workers Compensation claims and advises managers on claims management and disputes etc.
- Communicates and tracks corporate compliance programs.
- Performs special projects and assignments as required
- Proactively seeks to understand business needs and propose proactive solutions for resolution and to drive continuous improvement
- Counsels and advises the site and functional business leaders on matters related to Talent Management, Succession Planning, Training and Development, Feedback and Coaching, Employee Relations matters, and Promotion decisions
- Shapes and manages Employee Engagement initiatives, Communication plans, and culture boosting activities.
- Walk the Site Production enviroment on a daily basis and actively engage with Site employees.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree – in human resources management or related field preferred
- Must be bilingual Spanish / English and speak English fluently
- 5 years of experience as an HR Manager within a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated success in leading the HR function multiple locations.
- Comprehensive understanding of Mexico local, state and federal employment laws.
- Experience coaching, leading, and developing others.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication and relationship-building skill
- General knowledge of employment law
- Be up to date on HR policies and procedures; on-going education in HR field to keep up with federal/state/local changes Maintain employee confidentiality
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
- Must be able to partner with subordinates, peers, and leadership across all functions and externally
- Must be able to follow the company’s safety, ethics, sexual harassment, discrimination, and general employee policies
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrated teamwork and leadership abilities are also essential
- Occasionally perform tasks not described in this job description to meet the requirements of this position
