Capital B Gary seeks a Business and Economic Development Reporter to write stories delving into the city's economic landscape, exploring revitalization efforts, business growth, and the challenges of economic disparity. This beat will explore how distressed infrastructure and neighborhoods are being transformed, assess the financial landscape and job opportunities for residents, and examine the effects of community change.
This role is crucial for uncovering stories in Gary about innovation, scrutinizing political decisions affecting economic development, and highlighting community-driven solutions to challenges. We're seeking someone who can deeply connect with a wide range of community members, listen attentively to their questions and concerns, and understand their needs. They should be a reporter who embraces the opportunity to interact with the community and have them shape their work.
This position reports to the Gary Editor.
Salary Range: $60,000-$72,000
Location: Gary, Indiana.
