Adult Resource Alliance (ARA) is an independent 501c(3) non-profit organization with a mission to provide quality services and lead collaborative efforts to ensure seniors remain independent with the highest possible quality of life. We operate multiple Meals on Wheels routes and meal sites throughout the county. Seniors can participate in meals and other events and activities at several locations in our communities.
ARA offers a resource center where seniors, adults with physical disabilities, and their families and caregivers can find information about long-term support options and assistance in accessing those options. We also offer several transportation programs to help older adults travel to and from medical appointments, meal sites, social events and shopping.
Job Summary:
Under the general direction of the Executive Director, the Human Resource Generalist oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to: compensation, benefits, health and safety, leave of absences, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition, and morale. Guide all internal communications while working closely with Marketing and Communications Associate on announcements and posts including recruiting efforts. Acts as a liaison with the Board/ Board Committees to include dispersing agendas, taking minutes in meetings and furnishing them with any needed reports. Ensures Organizational compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Implements ARA’s mission and talent strategy.
Minimum Qualifications:
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy focusing on current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
2. Manages the talent acquisition process, including recruitment, interviewing, hiring of qualified job applicants; collaborates with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings; conducts background and reference checks, and employee eligibility verifications.
3. Provides support and guidance to management and other staff with complex, specialized and sensitive questions and issues arise; administers and executes reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, harassment and discrimination in accordance with laws and regulations and ARA policies.
4. Oversees and assists supervisors with employee coaching, feedback, disciplinary actions, and terminations; conducts exit interviews and tracks results.
5. Reviews, recommends, develops and implements HR policies and procedures and communicates to employees.
6. Monitors and ensures the Organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; regularly reviews and modifies policies and procedures to maintain compliance.
7. Conducts and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory trainings to include: workplace safety, anti-harassment and discrimination, confidentiality, and elder abuse to name a few.
8. Maintenance of employee records. Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation. Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
9. Manages performance evaluations process for the Organization; conducts supervisor training on how to conduct employee evaluations, assisting with the evaluation process as requested.
10. In coordination with department supervisor, develops individual employee orientation schedules; conducts new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
11. Assists in identifying training needs and development opportunities for employees with recommendations to, and from, supervisors; conducts training as appropriate.
12. Will work closely with Marketing and Communications Associate to disseminate information internally to staff through announcements and postings, including job openings.
13. Maintains knowledge of employment and benefit trends best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources.
14. Annually evaluates, recommends, implements, and administers employee benefit programs; provides support to employees in understanding and awareness of benefits.
15. Attends and participates in CSI/Leadership, and Personnel Committee meetings, and other meetings as requested.
16. Attends Board committee meetings, disperses agendas and takes minutes as needed.
17. Maintains confidentiality of employee information.
18. Performs other duties as required.
