TITLE: Classroom Assistant 

QUALIFICATIONS:            

1. High school diploma or GED required.
2. Required score on the Workkeys test.
3. Demonstrated aptitude of continuous improvement and service to customers.

REPORTS TO: Principal

JOB GOAL: To assist in the instructional process in the classroom and to assist with clerical assistant duties when needed.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assists teacher in the instructional process by working with individuals, small groups, scoring papers, making instructional materials, supervising study or special unit groups, and assisting in keeping a proper classroom environment.

1. Assists individuals who need tutoring.

1. Obtains materials needed for instruction, such as masters, charts, maps, etc.

1. Assists in supervision of classroom and student activities.

1. Attends training sessions to improve performance and the individual’s effectiveness.

1. Other duties as requested.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 190-day work agreement; CA10 salary scale. Salary and work year to be established by the district.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of classified personnel.
