As a Human Resources Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting employees and management teams in various HR functions. The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for tasks including but not limited to recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, worker’s compensation, leave of absences, accommodations, HR reporting, enforcing company's policies and practices, and other HR-related activities.
Essential Functions:
- Partners with HR leadership to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
- Provides support and guidance to managers and employees on general HR needs.
- Manages the talent acquisition process in partnership with other HR team members, which may include recruitment, managing job postings, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for hotel general manager and corporate professional roles; collaborates with managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. Assist managers with hourly staffing resources and recruiting training as needed.
- Manage onboarding process for hotel general managers and corporate positions including offer letters, preemployment screenings, coordinating start dates, and coordinate with payroll.
- Participates in reviewing employee disciplinary documents, meetings, terminations, and completes involuntary separation unemployment claims.
- Assists HR leadership with compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, recommends HR best practices, and interprets policies and procedures to maintain HR compliance.
- Oversee leave and accommodation process including FMLA, state leave laws, ADA, and other medical/leave needs.
- In partnership with HR team, assist with updating and managing HR spreadsheets, Paycor, and performing HR project work.
- Trains managers on new and existing HR processes and recommends areas of training opportunities.
- Manage worker’s compensation process including training, reporting, submitting claims, monitoring post workplace accident screenings, and in partnership with HR Coordinator completing annual OSHA reports.
- Manage state poster compliance including ordering posters for new locations, reconciling invoices, and ensuring all remote employees have access to electronic posters.
Other Duties:
- Cross-train with HR Coordinator to provide backup for other HR related tasks.
- Assist with other HR functions as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma required, bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field strongly preferred.
- SHRM-CP or PHR preferred.
- 5 - 7 years HR experience.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal HR regulations and HR best practices.
- Paycor experience is a plus.
- Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and HR systems.
- Must be detail-oriented, a self-starter with the ability to work independently or within a team environment.
- Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, decision making, problem-solving, and analytical skills required.
- Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material and maintain a high degree of professionalism.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required with the ability to communicate with various levels of management.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
