Human Resources Supervisor administers human resources policies and programs and directs the human resources staff in managing and implementing programs that support employee productivity and company objectives. Provides day-to-day oversight of various human resources functions critical to the organization, including recruiting, employee/labor relations, health and safety, compensation, benefits, training, diversity, employee engagement, payroll, and employee records. Being a Human Resources Supervisor supervises and trains staff that provides operational and administrative support for recruiting, onboarding, and other hr functions and programs. Develops consistent and standard procedures to process employment, attendance, and other records and to ensure accuracy. Additionally, Human Resources Supervisor typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Human Resources Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Human Resources Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.     Description

    PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Senior HR Generalist supports a wide range of HR Generalist functions to include: employee relations, employee engagement, recruitment, ATS/HRIS management, training, compliance efforts and HR projects.

     

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manages employee relation issues that include providing guidance to managers and employees on the interpretation of provisions of the collective bargaining agreement and employee handbook.
    • Conducts investigations and provides guidance for carrying out goal setting corrective action. When necessary, reviews employee grievances and evaluates allegations. Works with the union representatives, employees and managers to resolve issues. Ensures adherence and compliance with contractual requirements in conducting disciplinary hearings.
    • Manages termination process and off boarding tasks.
    • Provides general HR training to supervisors and managers during onboarding and as needed.

     

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Serves as a back-up resource for Recruitment team for vacations or peak times to help recruit, onboard or attend job fairs.
    • Employee Engagement
    • Assists with audits and compliance reports
    • Assists benefits department with annual benefits fair
    • Attends Waystone community events
    • Unemployment hearings
    • HRIS management
    • Assists with HR analytics
    • Assists with performance reviews tracking
    • HR projects or work assigned by VP of HR

    Qualifications


    Qualifications and Educational Requirement:

    • Bachelor's degree required.
    • PHR, or SHRM-CP is strongly preferred.
    • Labor law or Union experience is strongly preferred, preferably in a healthcare or service driven industry.
    • Minimum of 5 years of HR Generalist background as a HRBP, Sr HR Generalist or HR Manager managing complex ER issues as part of daily work.
    • Management Training background in Performance Management.
    • Onboarding and new employee orientation experience.
    • Advanced MS Office skills and ability to learn the HRIS/Paycom.
    • Must have a sense of urgency, excellent verbal and written communication and possess high levels of organization and prioritizing skills.
    • Valid driver’s license and a minimum of 1 year of driving experience.
    • The ability to occasionally drive to local worksites in the Merrimack Valley area
    • Regular and predictable attendance.
