HVAC Mechanic jobs in Fayetteville, AR

HVAC Mechanic performs maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems. Installs new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines. Being an HVAC Mechanic follows blueprints or engineering specifications to install units. Performs troubleshooting to identify the cause of problems. Additionally, HVAC Mechanic maintains and secures a spare parts inventory. Recommends purchasing maintenance equipment and supplies as required to improve processes and efficiencies. Typically requires an apprenticeship and/or completion of technical training. Requires a high school diploma. The regulations governing the location may require an HVAC Mechanical State License and EPA Section 608 Certification (CFC). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The HVAC Mechanic works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     https://vcfa.uark.edu/Summary of Job Duties:Maintains heating and A/C units, walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, growth chambers, etc., in buildings/offices on campus; preventive maintenance. On-call after hours for emergencies and during inclement weather.

    Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Completion of required education or training along with the required license or certification in HVAC Mechanics according to ACA 17-33-301

    • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma

    • At least five years of experience in the chosen field

    Required license(s)/certification(s):

    • Valid Arkansas HVAC License

    • Valid Drivers License

    Preferred Qualifications

    • At least eight years of HVAC experience


    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • Knowledge of the methods, practices, and safety precautions in one or more of the skilled trades

    • Knowledge of the laws and regulations relating to one or more of the skilled trades

    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, schematics, building plans, and/or work drawings

    • Skill in the use and care of tools and machinery used in one or more of the skilled trades
