Under limited supervision, the Apprenticeship Implementation Specialist provides technical assistance and professional customer service to employers and individual career seekers with registered apprenticeship programs to support the SC State Apprenticeship Expansion (SAE) 2020 grant, and SC State Apprenticeship Expansion, Equity, and Innovation (SAEEI) grant. Implements the customer service communication plan for all registered companies in the assigned region(s). Provides regular, high-quality technical assistance to companies on compliance with USDOL apprenticeship regulations (in collaboration with USDOL staff). Supports companies with tools to recruit, enroll, and retain diverse apprentices. Assists individual career seekers with new resources and online tools to locate available apprenticeships that meet their experience and career interests. Assists individual apprentices with new resources, such as onboarding and retention packages and available funding through Apprenticeship Carolina and other state and local partners. Coordinates with Apprenticeship Consultants, grant personnel, division management, colleges, government agencies, community-based organizations, and companies to promote awareness of and to educate about registered apprenticeships.
A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience. A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience in the areas of student services, supportive services, educational environment and/or business and industry.
Advanced knowledge of apprenticeship system, legislation and regulations respecting the apprenticeship programs and a working knowledge of post-secondary education. Advanced knowledge of the registered apprenticeship model of training and ability to make effective presentations. Well developed organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
