    Department Overview

    Operations Support is dedicated to creating cross-commodity consistency and standards in Operations. The team provides support services guided by best practices and a relentless pursuit for improvement. It has single points of accountability for Work Management & Resource Planning, Execution Support, Business Operations & Process Improvement, and Enterprise Public Works. Operations Support is comprised of approximately 1,000 coworkers.

     

     

    Position Summary

    Oversees the acquisition of encroachment permits for projects. Ensures coordination of public works projects with city and county agencies and internal stakeholders and communicates upcoming utility projects.

     

    This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need.

     

    PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

     

    A reasonable salary range is:​

    Bay Area Minimum: $​128,000

    Bay Area Maximum: $​218,000

    &/OR​

    California Minimum: $​122,000

    California Maximum: $207,000

     

     

    Job Responsibilities

    • Creates strategic vision for department, utilizing knowledge of the industry, continuous process improvement opportunities, business needs and agency requirements.
    • Oversees a team, serving as the primary point-of-contact to encroachment permitting agencies related to permitting and public works coordination efforts.
    • Partners with encroachment permitting agencies to develop processes to ensure accurate permit application submittal and timely approval of permits.
    • Ensures an adequate level of training regarding permit application requirements. Ensures proper information flow regarding coordination efforts of department.
    • Monitors metrics regarding, but not limited to, permit application submittal and approvals, permit approval cycle times, relationship building efforts, and permit backlog closure. Collects information from stakeholders regarding metrics and process, updates as necessary, and informs stakeholders regarding risks associated with permit applications.
    • Manages staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, and rewards and recognition.

    • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
    • Job-related experience, 8 years
    • Travel availability, 25pct
