Import Coordination Manager manages the production, import, and transportation of foreign goods. Develops and enforces standard operating procedures to comply with federal regulations. Being an Import Coordination Manager builds relationships with clients and helps resolve any freight problems that may arise. May be responsible for planning and scheduling to ensure imported goods arrive on time. Additionally, Import Coordination Manager may be involved in problem resolution and negotiation with freight-handling arrangements with foreign clients. Requires a bachelor's degree of specialty. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Import Coordination Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be an Import Coordination Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.
