    QUALIFICATIONS : For Caregivers :

    For Caregivers :

    A combination of experience and training is required. Caregiver applicants may have :

    • A H.S. Diploma or equivalent
    • 12 College Credits in Early Childhood OR 30 hours of Infant / Toddler Development Training
    • 12-24 months of experience in a licensed childcare program with children under 36 months
    • If you don't quite meet these requirements, don't fret! Kama'aina Kids can help you qualify for a Teacher or Caregiver role if you're interested & committed to personal growth.

    Infant / Toddler Development Training & help obtaining your CDA!)

    For Teacher Assistants :

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Have or be willing to obtain First Aid & CRP / AED Certification (Qualified Training Provided).
    • No prior experience required ; all training is provided for you, our enthusiastic new team member!

    A day in the life of a Caregiver or Assistant can look like this :

    • Greeting the children and families as they arrive / leave for the day.
    • Snuggling with little ones while singing & reading stories.
    • Encouraging physical activity while exploring the outdoors with the children.
    • Enjoying a relaxed meal after an adventurous science activity or creative art experience.
    • Ensuring that all children are safe, comfortable, secure and well-cared for.
    • Communicating with families about the children’s experiences that day.
    • Setting up the classroom for the next day of activities.
    • Going home with the satisfaction of knowing you made a difference!
