Information Technology Specialist (SYSADMIN) NF-04

  • Duties

    • Implements systems security plans, policies and preventive maintenance schedules. Using systems diagnostic tools and fault identification techniques, runs tests to verify operability and functionality.
    • Carries out routine maintenance, upgrade, and support of servers. Performs assignments using standard principles, theories, concepts and methods for systems administration and systems engineering.
    • Provides ongoing optimization and problem solving support to minimize interruptions in customers' ability to carry out critical business activities. Provides information and instructions related to the maintenance and service process.
    • Runs systems backups. Prepares and presents reports and briefings to technical staff.
    • Interprets IT policies, standards and guidelines. Develops network usage policies and procedures.
    • Applies information security and information assurance policy, principles, and practices.

    • Must meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
    • A one year probationary period may be required for this position.
    • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier III or higher background investigation.

    Qualifications

    Qualification Requirements are:

    Experience, education and/or specialized training sufficient to demonstrate knowledge and skill in:
    • Principles and methods for integrating information systems components;
    • Performance tuning tools and techniques;
    • System diagnostic tool and fault identification techniques;
    • Systems administration methods; and
    • IT security principles.

    Applicants meeting the following will be considered Highly Preferred:
    • At least 2 years of experience utilizing RecTrac/CYMS as an administrator
    • At least 2 years of experience performing server/client computer updates and patches
    • Currently possess a valid Comp TIA Security Certification
