The Medical Records Assistant functions as an integral member of the health information management team by ensuring the quality maintenance of medical records and patient information, within the standards set up by the department and the facility.

Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Graduate of an approved Health Information Program preferred.
Experience: A minimum of one (1) year experience in a health care facility preferred and thorough knowledge of medical terminology and terminal digit filing required.
Additional Requirements: Ability to work closely with facility and medical staff, good communication skills, and excellent organizational skills. Demonstrates effective customer service skills and attitude of cooperation and professionalism. Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision. Ability to be flexible in scheduling to meet department needs and deadlines.
