VICTIM SERVICES COORDINATOR

MISSION: The West Virginia Foundation for Rape Information and Services (WVFRIS) serves as the network of rape crisis centers in West Virginia to coordinate and develop comprehensive intervention and prevention services in the areas of sexual violence, stalking and human trafficking.

WVFRIS is seeking a candidate who has experience in victim services, demonstrates strong facilitation and writing skills, and has a passion for social justice work.

REPORTS TO: WVFRIS Chief Operations Officer

Overview: The Victim Services Coordinator will work with victim service providers across the state to ensure a network of trained, trauma-informed advocates providing accessible and responsive victims services. Responsibilities will include training, technical assistance (i.e., provide credible support services and resources), listserv facilitation, resource development, and participation in state-level initiatives that have the capacity to enhance services to victims of sexual assault, stalking and human trafficking.

Responsibilities: The Victim Services Coordinator will:

• Create and facilitate a listserv for victim advocates and other virtual networking opportunities as appropriate.

• Provide technical assistance to advocates seeking support and targeted technical assistance to victim service agencies in promoting their services to victims of sexual assault, stalking and human trafficking.

• Coordinate annual Core Advocate Trainings and advanced learning opportunities for rape crisis center advocates.

• Participate on state-level collaboratives (and their activities) related to serving victims of sexual assault, stalking and human trafficking.

• Work with national organizations to monitor and improve hotline services, develop/disseminate resources and share best-practice approaches.

• Build the capacity of victim service providers through trainings and resource development.

• Coordinate the certification of the state’s rape crisis center advocates.

• Participate in policy assessments/development/implementation on issues related to victim services and victims’ rights.

• Ensure that FRIS’ resources regarding the laws and victims’ rights are updated and that information is shared with the state’s rape crisis center advocates.

• Submit monthly written reports.

• Perform other duties as assigned by WVFRIS State Coordinator and the planning and development team.

Hours of Work: This is a full-time, remote position. Most in-person events are near North Central/Central West Virginia. Some evenings and weekends may be required. As part of a statewide coalition, the Coordinator will communicate regularly with WVFRIS staff remotely and in-person and will travel throughout the state, as needed. Occasional national travel may be required.

Salary: $43,000 - $49,000, commensurate with experience. Up to $600 per month health insurance stipend is provided.
