  • The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) is recruiting internally and externally for one position of
    Information Services Project Administrator. This is a Laborers International Union of North America,
    Local 808 (LIUNA, Local 808) position. All applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) selection
    criteria will apply when considering internal applicants.

    Posting Period: July 11, 2023 through July 28, 2023

    Salary: $82,003.71 to $102,504.64 Annum (Pay Grade 136)

    Reports To: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

    Summary of Position:
    Under the general direction of the Chief Technology Officer, this position will be responsible for translating
    and coordinating the Authority's objectives into reality in those areas where IT can provide such
    accomplishment. This position will interface with users and mid-level managers in fulfilling the IT project
    needs in various departments. This position may be required to respond to IT emergencies after hours and
    on weekends but will maintain a strong dedication to process standardization and documentation in order
    to minimize the risk of emergency situations.

    The Information Services Project Administrator will evaluate existing applications to determine technical
    changes, schedule projects, resources, and monitor project timelines. The Information Services Project
    Administrator plans, coordinates, and supervises all activities related to the design, development,
    implementation of the organization's projects. Other duties will include working with various departmental
    projects as lead for IT involvement, will provide adequate documentation and establish training procedures.
    This position will also be responsible for some ongoing tasks related to new and existing projects.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Communicates and coordinates with vendors as deemed necessary;
    • Assists with development and coordination of long and short-term systems project plans and identifies
    the strategies, tactics, and resources necessary to successfully implement such plans;
    • Assists with development and implementation systems software changes throughout RIPTA's
    Departments;
    • Coordinates with both hardware/software vendors in implementation of annual contractual
    maintenance agreements;
    • Will play a role in training employees on updated and new software applications;
    • As part of a team, maintains system security as related to user applications;
    • Other related duties as assigned by the Chief Technology Officer.

    Education:
    Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major concentration in Computer Science
    or a related field required.

    Experience:
    • Four (4) to six (6) years' experience working in an IS environment coordinating and maintaining IT
    projects.
    • Must possess previous experience working with end users and installing hardware and software.
    • Preference will be given to specific experience attained in the areas of ERP migration involving IBM
    iSeries servers (AS400), technical management, technical understanding, trouble shooting, training,
    and creating documents.

    Must be self-directed, able to work with minimal supervision and shifting priorities within prescribed
    timelines.
