HSI is looking for a Technical Support Specialist to join our team. Our Tech Specialist are an integral part of our team, providing support to our Providers and staff.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Technical Support Specialist will assure that technology devices used by HSI staff are accounted for, well maintained, and fully operable. This will provide prompt response to staff queries regarding function and performance of the devices and their productivity applications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Configure all devices (desktops, peripherals, PDA's, phones, radios) to provide the functionality the staff need to fulfill their duties.
2. Assure property tags are properly affixed to all devices and that these devices are catalogued by user location.
3. Keep available replacements and components for failed devices in order to restore staff to the full use of their assigned location.
4. Keep current inventory of devices, whether in service, repair, or storage. Maintain records of assigned and available software licenses.
5. Document all configuration settings, schemes and special arrangements.
6. Devise and administer a "help desk" procedure regarding device malfunctions or difficulties staff experience with productivity applications.
7. Troubleshoot operational difficulties, determine the probable cause and reasonable remedy, and implement dependable solutions.
8. Conduct a technology orientation for each employee utilizing assigned devices. Devise supplemental training regarding productivity applications.
9. Acquire sufficient skill with server side issues to assist with necessary administration of the HSI's network environment.
10. Keep abreast of important technology trends. Identify technical training requirements necessary for assuring full functionality of the staff devices applications.
11. Keep work and storage area clean and orderly.
12. Maintain daily work schedules and complete tasks in a timely manner.
13. Listen carefully to unusual matters.
14. Perform other necessary duties as assigned by the IS Director.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, speaking and listening on a regular basis.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Prefer BS or BA degree in a technical major and previous experience with providing PC support, or a minimum of 3 years job experience with providing PC support services.
2. Demonstrates competency with common productivity solutions (MS Office and common desktop operating systems (Windows 7/10, Linux).
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
1. Must listen carefully to responses for readily diagnosing user computer problems.
2. Must be able to effectively communicate solutions in an understandable and positive manner and demonstrate techniques for user productivity applications.
3. Must possess electrical and mechanical aptitude, knowledge of technology device design and function, skills with repairing devices and configuring software.
