    Salary range: A reasonable estimate for an appointment to teach a standard five-credit course is $9,322 - $19,518 (based on salary points 5-30), please see the UCSC Salary Scales and refer to the Non-senate Instructional (NSI) Unit 18 Pre-six Lecturer Academic Year scale. Instructional Workload Credit (IWC) valuation may vary, and the course salary will be adjusted accordingly. Compensation for Summer Session courses may vary from courses taught during the academic year (see Summer Session Faculty and Lecturer Pay).
    Percent time: Variable, based on the course load assigned.
    Anticipated start: Appointments are contingent on the hiring unit's instructional need and the availability of funding. This recruitment is valid for initial appointments made in fall quarter 2023 through fall quarter 2024. Initial appointments with effective dates outside of this recruitment period will require an alternative open recruitment.
    Position duration: Appointments are typically made during one or more quarters of the regular academic year (fall, winter, and spring quarters), but they may also be made during Summer Session.

    Position description

    The Technology and Information Management Program, under the Baskin School of Engineering at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC), invites applications for an ongoing pool of lecturers who may be appointed to teach engineering courses in technology management.

    Current subject matter areas within Technology and Information Management include, but are not limited to, product management, product development,innovation and entrepreneurship, supply chain management, financial engineering, operations research, information technology, software engineering, data mining, information retrieval, and machine learning.

    Outstanding candidates with experience to teach courses in one or more of the above areas are encouraged to apply. The campus is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their teaching and other assigned duties. Appointments are temporary positions with end dates and generally made one quarter at a time, based on the changing curricular needs of the department.

    Qualifications
    Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
    • M.B.A. or an M.S. degree (or equivalent foreign degree) in computer science, economics, electrical engineering, industrial and systems engineering, management, operations research, management, statistics, or closely related field.
    • Teaching experience demonstrated by college level teaching experience, TA experience, research presentations, and/or professional development training seminars.
