PROJECT CONSULTANT
Summary/Objective
At B&L we strive to help our customers make better business decisions through our software, education, and training. As an Accounting business consultant, you will work directly with our customers as both a trainer and advisor, utilizing Odyssey software, to promote and implement accounting best practices, controls, and costing. You can expect to work with all levels of experience from entry level accountants to corporate executives on a regular basis.
Essential Functions
Conduct an initial needs assessment of customer business process
Train customers on software in the accounting and cositng areas
Meet with customers regularly to report on gaps, strategies, and project progress
Develop and deliver presentations
Guide customers in implementing the software
Provide guidance for any recurring problems/challenges
Core Competencies
Understanding typical accounting functions, such as Account Receivables, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Financial Statements.
Understanding of Standard Costing, Cost Accounting or Job Costs is a plus.
In-depth knowledge of month end close processes and accruals
Financial Statement set up and generation

Preferred Experience & Knowledge
General understanding of the manufacturing process
2 years working with:
- Accounts Payable and Receivable processes
- General Ledger
- Month and year-end close processes
- Microsoft Office
- A degree of competence in a wide selection of business management software (CRM, ERP, etc.), and databases
Preferred Education
Degree in Accounting, Finance or Information systems

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no Supervisory Responsibilities.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
