Overview:

A startup/subsidiary of a global insurance company is looking for a Director of Information Technology to join their newly created team. The ideal candidate should possess expertise in IT security and IT systems management, coupled with some background in project management and staff supervision. This is a hybrid role in Torrance, CA, and the applicants must reside in the area at the time of application.

Essential Duties:

• Ensure the security of all company systems, including customer data, surpassing industry standards despite our small company size.
• Oversee the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system.
• Maintain ISO27001 Certification through meticulous planning and conducting audits.
• Manage IT security incident responses effectively.
• Conduct security trainings and implement necessary measures.
• Administer and secure Microsoft 365 platform and AWS systems, covering administration, implementation, and ongoing operations.
• Provide guidance for reporting to the monthly IT Security Steering Committee, which consists of company executives.
• Participate in the Global IT Security Conference.
• Approval of device purchases (laptops, cell phones, monitors, etc.), overseeing setup, and maintaining inventory control.
• Provide directives for system management and account administration across various platforms (Microsoft, AWS, Atlassian, Adobe, Google, FreshService, etc.), including approval for payments.
• Supervise IT security personnel, IT systems personnel, and help desk personnel.
• Manage office security systems.
• Optimize IT systems through planning, bidding, evaluation, analysis, implementation, and ongoing operation.
• Oversee IT project management.
• Select vendors and review and negotiate contracts.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• Over 5 years of technical experience, with at least 3 years focused on IT security.
• Strong familiarity with AWS cloud services.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft 365 suite.
• Hands-on expertise in incident handling and management.
• Experience in planning, implementing, and administering IT systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Enterprise tools, including Active Directory, Defender, Intune, Exchange, and Teams admin portals.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
• Proficiency in Atlassian products, including Jira, Confluence, and BitBucket.
• Competence in managing AWS infrastructure.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
