Assistant Director of Information Technology

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Director of Information Technology to help lead our I.T. Department and drive technological innovation within our organization. This position reports to the Director of I.T. and is a leadership role that requires analytical mindset, critical thinking and communication skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Position Overview: As the Assistant Director of I.T., you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our technology landscape. You will be responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, implementation, and maintenance of all aspects of our I.T. infrastructure. This leadership role requires a forward-thinking and collaborative professional with a proven track record of successfully managing I.T. teams and implementing cutting-edge technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management:

·        Provide strong leadership and direction to the I.T. team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

·        Develop and mentor team members, promoting professional growth and skill development.

Strategic Planning:

·        Collaborate with leadership to align technology initiatives with organizational goals.

·        Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy to support the company's growth and competitiveness.

Infrastructure and Operations:

·        Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust I.T. systems, networks, and hardware.

·        Direct the implementation and utilization of computer and PC systems hardware and software.

·        Ensure the security, integrity, and availability of data and information systems with PCI compliance.

Vendor Management:

·        Evaluate, negotiate, and manage relationships with technology vendors, ensuring cost-effective solutions and service delivery.

·        Innovation and Technology Trends:

·        Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.

·        Recommend and implement innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and competitiveness.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
• Proven experience in a leadership role within an I.T. department.
• Strong strategic thinking, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to drive results and meet targets.
• We are located in Standish, MI and this is an in office position.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in network administration, system administration, and programming experience. 
• Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and data protection.
