Injection Molding Machine Operator sets up and operates injection molding machinery to shape plastics. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position, and secure machinery. Being an Injection Molding Machine Operator adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion. May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Additionally, Injection Molding Machine Operator requires a high school diploma or equivalent. POSITION OVERVIEW
The Injection Molding Team Leader will direct the workflow, staffing, equipment, and production for Molding Area. The Team Leader organizes employees and production equipment to meet shift quota’s, all the while ensuring safety compliance, resolving production and staffing issues, managing resources such as raw material, WIP and finished goods. The Team Leader will liaise with other supervisors and managers to ensure customer quality specifications and demands are met.
JOB DUTIES:
- Perform minor maintenance on molding equipment.
- Work with Equipment Coordinators regarding equipment repair.
- Support training of new team members
- Startup and shutdown selected critical machines.
- Ensure that employees follow all safety requirements.
- Manage and evaluate machine and human resources to ensure productivity while minimizing downtime.
- Ensure that all parts meet the quality and performance requirements.
- Supervise 3-4 manufacturing team members in a fast-paced production environment.
- Complete and submit reports to Operations Superintendent and/or Production Manager.
- Communicate problems to Operations Superintendent and/or Production Manager while working toward eliminating obstacles.
- Manage time and attendance using Paycor for assigned employees.
- Run molding equipment and answer alarms when needed. – Ability to run all equipment in the Molding area.
- Manage area Inventory and coordinate with Engineering/Area Maintenance molding die changes.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- Familiarity with automotive component manufacturing
- Analytical skills to handle reasonably complex situations
- Written, verbal & electronic communication skills
- Negotiation skills to resolve issues, handle conflicts and achieve positive outcomes for internal and external customers.
- Be a positive & proactive leader.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
Equivalent manufacturing/management experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
Proficient with MS Office
Physical Requirements:
-Ability to stand/walk for 90% of 8-hour shift
-Ability to safely lift 35lbs
-Ability to safely push/pull material carts.
