Installation & Maintenance Technician Director directs the installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing of switches, cables, and other telecommunications equipment in the field to ensure optimum network usage and quality. Ensures compliance to customer specifications and company requirements. Being an Installation & Maintenance Technician Director leads all functions and ensures they are completed on time and within budget. Oversees the scheduling of installation and maintenance services. Additionally, Installation & Maintenance Technician Director requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Installation & Maintenance Technician Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE :

    The Service Technician position is responsible for providing customer service and maintenance functions to Loram customers within a specific region.

    Maintaining unit uptime to customer expectations is critical to customer satisfaction, railroad fuel economy, and railroad’s wheel / rail life.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

    Customer Focus

    • Build customer and supplier relations for improved products and services.
    • Work with Sales Department to ensure customer expectations are met.

    Functional / Technical Skills

    • Service top of rail and gauge face lubricator units to specified guidelines.
    • Uses logic and methods to solve problems to find effective solutions.
    • Understand and adhere to general railroad and Loram operating rules.

    Managing and Measuring Work

    • Manage inventory held on maintenance vehicle through company processes.
    • Plans work based on length and task difficulty, develops schedules, and anticipates and adjusts for problems to meet objectives.
    • Able to work independently.

    Written Communication

    Process work orders and complete all necessary delivery tickets, warranty paperwork, and returns through approved company processes.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

    Education : Associate degree in Electrical or Mechanical

    Experience : 1 years of Field service experience with customer facing role

    Licenses / Certifications : Maintain railroad safety training and certifications

    Or equivalent combination of education and experience

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

    Experience : 2 years working in a railroad environment, Field service, and Basic computer skills
