Installation & Maintenance Technician installs, maintains, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs switches, cables, and other telecommunications equipment in the field to ensure optimum network usage and quality. Documents and verifies equipment problems and repairs. Being an Installation & Maintenance Technician requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Installation & Maintenance Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.
