Are you passionate about guiding a company to the next phase using insights and innovation? EMI is seeking a highly motivated and experienced researcher to join our team as the Director of Insights. As the Director of Insights, you will play a pivotal role in driving sales growth and enhancing our capabilities by delivering internal and external industry insights. You will be responsible for leading a team in conducting comprehensive research, designing and managing ongoing internal studies, and providing industry thought leadership. This position works closely with Business Development, Client Services, Marketing, and Research Management to deliver insights and elevate EMI’s position and visibility in the market research industry

Responsibilities:
Research Leadership:
Lead research initiatives for IntelliBlend (EMI’s proprietary sample blending methodology), focusing on continuous improvement.
Design, manage, and analyze ongoing internal research on our partner network.
Develop and update products (IntelliBlend) to meet industry and client needs.
Assist clients with specific questions around survey design, methodology, and best practices.
Internal and External Insights:
Assist Sales and Research Management teams on full-service questions and survey-related matters.
Educate Sales teams and clients on industry trends, privacy & legislative updates, competitive intelligence, new innovations, and other factors influencing the industry.
Network with external peers, attend conferences, and join relevant professional affiliations to stay informed.
Leverage gathered insights via various marketing efforts such as white papers, blogs, conference presentations, webinars, etc.
Sales Enablement:
Provide sample advice and consulting on ideal blends, base sizes, partner identification, and best practices.
Co-present with sales for current clients and prospects
Work closely with marketing and sales teams to create compelling sales decks.
Innovation and Industry Trends:
Stay abreast of industry trends and innovations, such as APIs, blockchain, AI, synthetic respondents, etc.
Provide consultation to external clients on research design, methodology, data quality, and analysis.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Be a leader within the organization that partners with all functions of the organization.
Participate in various internal teams, including API, Quality Council, and Executive Team.
Training and Onboarding
Train new employees on EMI’s sampling methodologies (IntelliBlend, Strategic Sample Blending, etc.) and Research-on-Research (ROR).
Serve as a resource for onboarding new team members.
Supervisory
This position has an entry-level insights position as a direct report.
Skills Needed:
5 years of experience in market research in an insights, design and analysis function.
Proven experience in marketing research methodologies, with a focus on online quantitative research.
Strong background in designing research around client objectives and consulting on research design and methodology, as well as conducting data analysis on the result and draw conclusions.
A high-level understanding of various analytic solutions which is ideal for various business objectives, such as multiple regression, choice-based solutions, factor analysis, cluster analysis, etc.
Experience using data analytics tools like SPSS, Sawtooth, PowerBI, etc.
Excellent report writing and presentation skills for various types of clients
Familiarity with the online sample industry, sample frames, and sampling methodologies
Familiarity with data quality measures and relevant industry credibility
Experience working with key sample providers and methods
Function well in an open office environment
High motivation to succeed
Strong computer skills utilizing Outlook, Excel, and other web-based programs
