Consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. In addition, Instructional Designer II writes and edits outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Evaluates the software or collaboration tools to be selected for training. Establishes metrics to use to evaluate training effectiveness. May collaborate with vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. May coach trainers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Job Summary:
Join the Colorado School of Public Health as an Instructional Designer. This position is a key member of the school’s Rocky Mountain Public Health Training Center (RM-PHTC), out of the Center for Public Health Practice (CPHP). This position will work to expand learning opportunities for the public health workforce by engaging with faculty, external partners, and subject matter experts to develop learning objectives, identify appropriate development tools, and compile and develop training materials. This position will be responsible for providing technical support to training participants and instructors, as well as instructional design support for the development of new learning opportunities, including multimedia and multimodal content, online courses and modules, and webinars. This individual will also be responsible for video and audio editing and learning management systems and is expected to follow emerging and novel practices and research in public health training, education, and instructional design.
The Instructional Designer will be part of a fast-paced workplace and diverse multidisciplinary team, requiring effective communication skills. The ideal candidate will take personal initiative to be highly organized and adept at implementing and following processes, adapting as project priorities shift.

Anticipated Salary Range:
The starting target salary for this position has been established as $56,000 - $59,000.
The above salary represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on the level.
