The Instructional Designer II conducts skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Designs and develops training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Being an Instructional Designer II develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. In addition, Instructional Designer II writes and edits outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Evaluates the software or collaboration tools to be selected for training. Establishes metrics to use to evaluate training effectiveness. May collaborate with vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. May coach trainers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Being an Instructional Designer II occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Job Description

    We are seeking a Designer to join our team at CVI! Qualified candidates for this position should be able to work independently to create 3D models and final engineering drawings utilizing point clouds and field dimensions. A high level of coordination is required among the design, fabrication, and millwright groups.

     

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Overseeing assigned design projects, from conception to delivery.
    • Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Take extreme ownership of designs all the way through fabrication and installation. 
    • Participate in team meetings and provide input as required.
    • Coordinate and oversee designs during fabrication.  Assist fabrication with interpretation of drawings.
    • Accurately utilize Inventor and AutoCAD to create assemblies, sub-assemblies, manufactured parts, site plans, install plans, etc...
    • Lead or participate in field installation plan development, including installation drawing development.
    • Participate in quality control reviews to ensure accuracy and quality.
    • Create thorough product documentation including manuals for assembly and installation.
    • Design responsibilities include 3D model creation and drawing creation utilizing Inventor, AutoCAD, and other design software.
    • Perform site visits independently and as part of a team and be able to gather all data required for project design and completion.
    • Learn to use laser scanner and associated software.
    • Learn to generate accurate and complete Scopes of Work.
    • Participate in standards development and implementation of Vault Workflow.
    • Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to scheduling, Bill of Lading preparation, material requisitions, etc.

     

    Qualifications

    • Associate's degree in drafting and design is a plus
    • 5 – 10 years of drafting and design experience
    • Problem-solver
    • Excellent organization skills
    • Excellent communication skills
