The Instructional Designer II conducts skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Designs and develops training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Being an Instructional Designer II develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. In addition, Instructional Designer II writes and edits outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Evaluates the software or collaboration tools to be selected for training. Establishes metrics to use to evaluate training effectiveness. May collaborate with vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. May coach trainers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Being an Instructional Designer II occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Structural Designer

  • Job Description:
    • Support design development of the mechanical, electrical, architectural, and structural systems and equipment supporting the GBSD program drawings, layouts, and model information in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements.
    • Work with engineers and other technical disciplines in a team environment, to conceptualize an approach for independent execution.
    • Plan and coordinate independent work requiring substantial judgment and experience in the application and adaptation of design techniques, including devising new approaches to technical problems encountered, while maintaining alignment to the codes and standards.
    • Execute designs with minimal direction or oversight, aligned to general concepts and requirements.
    • Utilize critical thinking to evaluate, select, and apply design skills and techniques to project-related assignments.
    • Coordinate technical issues with other departments on projects including contractibility requirements and reviews.
    • Assist in on-the-job training of assigned personnel and provide input for their performance evaluation.
    • Review and check the work of others as assigned.
    • Execute designs in Building Information Modeling tools and coordinate with other disciplines

    • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
    • Experience coordinating a multi-discipline design team proficient in a Revit-based design environment to originate 3D model content and produce design deliverables in a multidisciplinary model.
    • Advanced experience using Revit, including Trimble tools and add-ons.
    • Experience with drawings and designs for architectural mechanical, electrical, or structural systems and equipment for industrial process facilities, data centers, central utility plants, or complex building systems.
    • Experience producing a full, well-coordinated, detailed set of architectural construction documents.
    • Willingness to participate in and foster a work environment that is based upon openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and job satisfaction.
    • Advanced design experience in at least one discipline (electrical, structural, mechanical, or architectural) shown through familiarity with relevant codes, standards, practices, and procedures.
    • Mid-level Designer:
      • High School diploma or equivalent and 7 or more years of progressive design experience, Associate of Arts or Science and 5 or more years of related experience, or Bachelor of Science in a related field with 3 years of related design experience.
    • Senior Designer:
      • High School diploma or equivalent and 15 or more years of progressive design experience, Associate of Arts or Science and 11 or more years of related experience, or Bachelor of Science in a related field with 6 years of related design experience.
