The Instructional Designer II conducts skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Designs and develops training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Being an Instructional Designer II develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. In addition, Instructional Designer II writes and edits outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Evaluates the software or collaboration tools to be selected for training. Establishes metrics to use to evaluate training effectiveness. May collaborate with vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. May coach trainers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Being an Instructional Designer II occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.      We are seeking an Instructional Designer to join the Learning & Team Development (L&TD) department. As a crucial member of our dynamic People Team, you’ll be responsible for designing and developing engaging and impactful learning experiences. You’ll partner closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders to develop innovative and high-quality learning programs aligned with Brighton Jones’ strategic goals.

    Your Role:
    • Apply instructional design and adult learning theory to design and develop instructionally sound learning solutions/experiences. 
    • Leverage creative, immersive learning methodologies and mixed modalities in learning experience design and development which may include instructor-led, virtual instructor-led, eLearning, and blended learning experiences. 
    • Own and project manage the design, development, and delivery of multiple projects across the company. 
    • Collaborate with others to dynamically create durable and impactful learning solutions. 
    • Analyze quality and metrics to identify the root causes of performance opportunities. 
    • Identify and apply appropriate evaluation techniques (summative, formative, four levels and usability testing). 
    • Partner with other teams to monitor completion, comprehension, and retention of the content to determine training effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities. 
    • Build effective working relationships, including communicating effectively with partners and stakeholders. 
    • Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors. 


    Your Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, education, or related field required. Advanced degree or certification in a relevant field a plus. 
    • 7 years relevant experience in instructional design. 
    • Ability to analyze and logically organize complex information into instructionally sound training materials that excite and engage learners.  
    • Demonstrated capability with eLearning software such as Captivate, Storyline, Camtasia, and similar authoring tools and platforms for creating rapid animation or graphic-rich design. 
    • Demonstrated experience with presentation and graphics tools (PowerPoint, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign). 
    • Demonstrated design expertise across a broad range of learning modalities focused on adult learners. 
    • Demonstrated media (audio and video) skills and some front-end web development. 
    • Applied cloud infrastructure knowledge and experience with APIs to design and build engaging and effective learner experiences. 
    • Prior experience using and managing learning management systems (LMS) such as Docebo, Cornerstone, etc. 
    • Experience designing and developing asynchronous (on-demand) and synchronous (live) learning experiences. 
    • Proven skill in managing several complex learning projects simultaneously, with strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize changing tasks and deliverables efficiently. 
    • Excellent grammar and writing proficiency. 
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, including both written and oral communication skills. 
    • Creative thinker, self-starter with a proactive approach to resolving problems and issues. 
    • Eager to learn, grow and build skills, while working in a fast-paced environment. 
    • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily.              
    • This role is an in-office, full-time, and exempt position. We are a work from office culture with lots of flexibility.


    Compensation:
    • $90,000 - $115,000 per year

     4. Full Loop - you’ll meet the team in two, back-to-back interviews with team members you’re likely to work with. During these conversations, we’ll be listening for examples of your technical skills as well as how core values show up in your experience. There may also be a writing sample, role play, hiring, or technical assessment depending on the position.

     5. Personal Reference Calls - in this final step in the hiring process, you will be asked to arrange 1-2 personal reference calls with past managers of our choosing.
