The New York Hall of Science (NYSCI) is seeking a consultant with a background in designing and implementing culturally responsive educational experiences for youth in informal settings utilizing digital tools or devices (i.e arduinos, Raspberry Pi, etc). The Education Technology Specialist will support the development of a 30 hour camp curriculum that enables middle school youth to explore how to use data science to identify and address community related issues using an open source hardware device called GoGo Board. The consultant will also assist in the co-facilitation of the curriculum activities with middle school youth in a week-long camp at the New York Hall of Science.
Consultant is required to commit to meeting virtually three times a month for a 1-hour meeting during the months of December 2023-June 2024 which will be scheduled between M-F, 9am-5pm based on both parties availability and completing all monthly assignmentsConsultant will also need to attend designated in person meetings as needed in addition to co-facilitating in person camp April 22-26th.
Consultant will receive $4,000 per month upon completion of monthly deliverables and submission of a monthly invoice. The total for the full work scope over the course of 7 months is $28,000.
