Develops computer training materials and assists in teaching how to set up and use computer applications and related technologies. Being an Instructional Technology Specialist may troubleshoot technical problems and train junior staff members. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Instructional Technology Specialist typically reports to a manager. The Instructional Technology Specialist gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Provide assistance to ensure the productive and efficient operation of the Information Technology and Instructional Media Center departments. Responsibilities include collecting and processing data to prepare state-mandated reports through NJ SMART as well as other district- and school-level reports, maintaining the department budgets through purchasing and vendor correspondence, collecting circulation and facility usage statistics, managing fines and obligations for late and lost media, and other responsibilities assigned by the Supervisor of Technology.
Requirements:
- High School diploma required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Minimum experience in general or school office work as determined by the Board
- Knowledge of educational practices and experience with business software packages
- Strong analytical, communication and human relations skills
- Must be able to enter, process and analyze data quickly and efficiently
- Must have demonstrated experience in dealing with confidential and sensitive information
- Must be proficient using Google, Microsoft Office and other business office software
- Required criminal history check and proof of U.S. citizenship or resident alien status
