Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Accounting typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research.   • FLSA Employment Category: Salaried, Faculty, 9 months, Full-time temporary DEPARTMENT: Business POSITION SUMMARY: The Business Department at Alma College, Alma, Michigan invites applications for a full-time, in-person, instructor position beginning August 2024. This is initially a two-year contract with a high likelihood of renewal, and a possibility of conversion to a tenure-track position. Preferred applicants will have an MBA or a master’s degree in Finance, and college-level teaching experience. We will also consider a master’s or PhD in Economics with Finance as a field or professional experience in Finance. TEACHING RESPONSIBILITIES: The department seeks a candidate who will be able to teach a wide range of courses in Finance, including Managerial Finance (part of the Business core), Investments, and Advanced Finance. Strong consideration will be given to candidates who are willing and able to teach Business Analytics (Excel), Financial Accounting, and Managerial Accounting (these classes are part of the Business core). Commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal arts environment is essential. Alma College prioritizes inclusive pedagogy, experiential learning, and opportunities for student research. Typical teaching load is six units per year.
