Instructor - Architecture teaches courses in the discipline area of architecture. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Architecture provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Architecture typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. Bayer Landscape Architecture, PLLC (BLA) is an award-winning, boutique design firm with studios in both Rochester and Ithaca, New York. The firm has focused on the creation of unique and sustainable outdoor environments for over 30 years. BLA maintains a diverse and thriving practice with a wide range of project types including parks and urban spaces, campuses, custom residential, and historic preservation.We are seeking talented, vibrant, landscape architects / designers to join our growing firm. The successful candidates will collaborate with other members of the team on an impressive array of projects, and will be involved with all phases of the design process.
The positions offer a very competitive salary and benefits package that will be tailored to the successful candidates' qualifications and experience level.Skills Required
Entry Level Candidates can range from senior-level interns / recent graduates to individuals who have up to 4 years of professional experience. Applicants should possess exceptional design, communication, and interpersonal skills. A high-level of proficiency with AutoCAD, the Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp and / or Rhino is mandatory for this position.
Mid-Level Candidates must have 5 to 12 years of professional experience, strong project management skills, and the ability to lead projects from conceptual design through the development of construction documents, including coordination with clients, consultants, and review agencies. A high-level of proficiency with AutoCAD, the Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp and / or Rhino is also required for this position. Excellent technical / detailing skills, and a strong knowledge of plants and planting design are highly desirable.
