Being an Instructor - Biology provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Biology typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. Position Summary
The Department of Biology in the Pott College of Science, Engineering and Education at the University of Southern Indiana, a public university in Evansville, Indiana, seeks applications for a 9-month non-tenure track, renewable Instructor in Biology or non-tenure track, renewable Contract Assistant Professor of Biology beginning August 2024.
Duties/Responsibilities
The position will teach in a two-semester Human Anatomy and Physiology sequence and other possible courses as needed. In addition, the duties may include advising and/or committee service as needed.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Qualified candidates must have a master's degree in Biology, Family Nurse Practitioner, or closely related field. To qualify for the contract assistant professor position, candidates must have a doctoral degree in Biology, Physical Therapy, Chiropractic, or closely related field. ABD considered at the rank of Instructor if doctoral degree is not conferred by hire date.
