    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement curriculum plans in alignment with state and national standards for high school biology education.
    • Design and deliver engaging and differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
    • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, resources, and technology to enhance student understanding and facilitate active learning experiences.
    • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement, collaboration, and critical thinking.
    • Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback to support student growth and achievement.
    • Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues through effective communication and collaboration.
    • Foster a culture of scientific inquiry, curiosity, and exploration among students through laboratory investigations, research projects, and experiential learning opportunities.
    • Integrate real-world applications and current scientific research into classroom instruction to demonstrate the relevance and importance of biology concepts.
    • Participate in department meetings, school-wide initiatives, and professional development activities to enhance teaching practice and contribute to the school community.
    • Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behavior according to school policies and procedures.
    • Engage in ongoing reflection and professional growth to continuously improve teaching effectiveness and student outcomes.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Education, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
    • Valid teaching license or certification in Biology (or eligibility for licensure).
    • Demonstrated knowledge of high school biology content, instructional best practices, and assessment strategies.
    • Experience designing and delivering effective biology curriculum and instruction at the high school level.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
    • Proficiency in integrating technology and multimedia resources to enhance teaching and learning.
    • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education and the ability to create a culturally responsive classroom environment.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
    • Dedication to ongoing professional growth and development.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $52,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
