Instructor - Biology teaches courses in the discipline area of biology. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Biology provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Biology typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. Full-time (9-month) faculty position to teach Anatomy and Physiology, and other Biology courses. Teaching assignments may be in Highlands, Hardee, or DeSoto counties. Typically work schedule: Monday - Thursday, and Fridays as needed. Position begins Spring term (January 2024).
Duties and Responsibilities:

Educational: Master's degree in biological sciences (or related field) from a regionally-accredited institution or a Master's degree and 18 graduate semester hours in biological sciences (or related field) required. Related field examples: (Physiology, Anatomy, Animal Science, or Molecular biology). Doctorate preferred.
