  • Summary

    The instructor participates in planning and implementing the educational program and performs diversified duties in the instruction, direction, supervision, and evaluation of students. The instructor leads curriculum development and revisions, and evaluation of program outcomes using evidence-based practice.  The instructor works to support student success in academics and clinicals.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry.
    • Provides an interactive learning experience in didactic teaching.
    • Guides students in the development of clinical skills and critical thinking, including giving constructive feedback and evaluations.
    • Creates learning experiences in nursing lab and simulation.
    • Assists students to be successful through teaching, tutoring, and advising.
    • Participates in committee work and self-governance, develops and evaluates curriculum, continues self-learning, and serves as a role model. 
    • Other duties as consistent with this role.
    • Instructors with assignments that include student supervision in the clinical setting need Epic access.

    Job Requirements

    Job Knowledge and Skills

    Education and Experience

    • Current NH Registered Nurse required
    • Approved by the NH Board of Nursing as an AD nurse educator preferred
    • Master’s degree in Nursing strongly preferred
    • Minimum of three years’ experience in nursing practice required
    • One to two years’ experience as a nursing educator in an academic or practice setting preferred.

    An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.

    Working Conditions/Physical Demands

    Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with this position that involves a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. Occasional lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs.  Some stress related to high level of responsibility for quality care.
