Instructor - Civil Engineering teaches courses in the discipline area of civil engineering. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Civil Engineering provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Civil Engineering typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. Job Description
Development Services Group, Inc. is seeking a civil engineer to join our team in Portsmouth, VA. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic, creative problem-solver, and attention to detail.
Duties Include:
- Drafting, revising construction documents for accuracy and completeness and addressing jurisdiction review comments.
- Create drawings for various construction projects in VA, NC, SC, GA, and FL that consists of commercial, residential, and mixed use developments.
- Microsoft Office Suite.
- AutoCad Civil 3D a must.
- AutoTurn (preferred)
- Site visits and construction administration
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications: Required: A minimum of two years of experience drafting and designing construction documents is required; Must be authorized to work in VA without sponsorship; Must be willing to travel to other states on occasion; Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; Must possess the ability to manage time effectively under deadlines; Must possess the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities while still maintaining accuracy and quality standards; Must be able to lift 50 lbs.; Able to work independently or as part of a team as applicable depending on project needs; Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (summer heat & cold).
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 40 per week
