Instructor - Communication teaches courses in the discipline area of communication. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Communication provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Communication typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research.   • Position Description
    The Service and Experiential Learning Coordinator will report directly to the Director of Service and Experiential Learning. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director, faculty, and staff school-wide to serve the CCES community and the greater Greenville Community. The Service and Experiential Learning Coordinator will plan and implement service projects across all divisions (Primer-12). The successful candidate will also be available to help mentor Upper School students on the sophomore project and the senior thesis. Other responsibilities may include coordinating trips, developing processes and procedures, and general tasks related to logistics.
    Leadership
    • Actively participate in and support service and experiential learning projects.
    • Build the service and experiential learning program across all three divisions.
    • Serve as a resource and work with faculty and staff to integrate service and experiential learning into their teaching.
    • Cultivate partnerships in the community to provide students, faculty, and staff opportunities to serve beyond the school.
    • Contribute to the growth and development of the service and experiential program.
    • Serve as mentor to service and experiential learning related clubs to provide support and plan activities.
    • Assist with any special school events as needed.
    • Perform other duties across campus to directly serve students, faculty, and staff.
    Communication
    • Communicate and collaborate with faculty on service projects.
    • Develop content for CCES community newsletters.
    • Build and nurture relationships with agencies and organizations in the community.
    • Reach out to alumni and other community stakeholders to interface with and/or mentor students.
    • Promote division-specific service projects to students, faculty, and families.
    Essential Qualifications and Skills
    • Four year degree required, preferably in education.
    • Job experience in a service-related field; experience in an educational setting preferred.
    • Interest in service learning and the community at large.
    • Interest in working with students across all grade levels.
    • Commitment to modeling the mission and core values of Christ Church Episcopal School.
    • Ability to exercise good judgment and comply with school standards.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing.
    • Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, administration, and parents.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Positive attitude, flexible approach, and a sense of humor.
    • Willingness to participate in service after hours and weekends as needed.
    • Willingness to drive a 14 passenger mini bus for service and experiential related trips.
    This position is considered a 10-month agreement with two extra weeks over the summer to be arranged with the Director of Service and Experiential Learning. It is understood that the workload and demands of this position may require work outside of normal working hours based on specific projects and/or time of year.
