The position of Media and Communications Instructor is Open Until Filled to create a qualified instructor pool.

As the Full-Time Media and Communications Instructor, you will have a unique opportunity to use both your academic and industry experience. We are looking for an organized, energetic individual who can lead our Media Studies program and serve as a valuable member of our Communication and Writing department. This is a student-centered teaching and advising role, with evenings and weekends expected. The ideal candidate has both academic and industry experience in both Media and Communication/Writing. In addition to instruction, this position is the advisor for our award-winning student publication, the Mainstream.
As the sole instructor in Media Studies, the successful candidate will teach and update Media Studies courses to ensure relevancy and alignment with transfer partners. The assignment will include instructional oversight of the existing media studies program, including curriculum development and assessment, and advising student media. Current courses include Writing for the Media, Introduction to Mass Communication, Public Relations, and Journalism Production. This position will also teach Communication Studies courses, which may include Public Speaking, Listening, Small Group Communication, or Interpersonal Communication, as well as Writing courses in the general education area as needed.
