Instructor - Drama teaches courses in the discipline area of drama. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Drama provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Drama typically reports to a department head. Under supervision of Principal, instructs and supervises students with developmental disabilities. Prepares lesson plans, creates student schedules, and plans activities designed to meet student IEP goals. Develops, updates, and implements Individual Education Plans. Completes Alternate Assessments and needed documents for Evaluation Team Reports. Assesses student progress and reports progress and development of students on Progress Reports. Works cooperatively with therapists and student aides to plan, implement, and document students’ goals. Follows Behavior Support Plans and keeps accurate documentation. Supervises, schedules, and assigns duties to instructional aide and student aides. Communicates effectively with students, family members and other staff. Organizes the classroom to provide optimum learning for students. Plans meetings with parents and school district personnel. Maintains all necessary records and fulfils other related duties as assigned. Must be able to swim and participate in swimming activities and plan physical education activities.
A minimum of Bachelor’s degree with valid Ohio Department of Education Educator Intervention Specialist License K-12. Experience in teaching children with multiple disabilities preferred.
