    Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics

    The Canisius University Department of Economics & Finance, housed in the AACSB accredited Richard J. Wehle School of Business, is seeking applicants for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics position beginning August 2024. The teaching load is 4 courses per semester and consists primarily of Principles of Micro and Macroeconomics as well as our two semester Business Statistics sequence. Preference will be given to those with some teaching experience.

    Canisius University serves approximately 2,500 undergraduate and graduate students. The Economics & Finance department is comprised of 7 faculty members and serves 190 undergraduate majors as well as Master's students in Finance, Business Analytics, and an MBA concentration in Finance.

    Compensation and Benefits:

    Salary: $60,000-$70,000 annually

    Please note that the compensation information is a good faith estimate of the base pay for this position. The selected candidate's actual base pay will be based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors including experience. Information about the total compensation package for this position will be provided during the interview process.

    Benefits are available the first of the month after the full-time faculty's date of hire and include - health, dental and vision insurance, life and long-term disability insurance, and retirement plan enrollment is available to full-time faculty with contribution from the University after one year. One year waiting period may be waived provided the person was employed in higher education for at least one-year full time within three years prior to hire date. University contribution would not begin until proof of prior service is received. Tuition benefits are also available for full-time faculty and their qualified dependents.
