Instructor - Educational Assessment teaches courses in the discipline area of educational assessment, testing, and measurement. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Educational Assessment provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Educational Assessment typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess or be able to obtain the appropriate, valid Mississippi Educator License with the required endorsement to be highly qualified. Must pass a criminal background check as prescribed by the state statute.High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or higher in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management preferred; Practical experience in catering and restaurant operations; Must possess or be able to obtain the ServSafe Manager's & Instructor's certification; Abliity to work collaboratively in a team environment; Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational setting.
EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of work experience in the technical skills, trade, or vocations to be taught are required, and one (1) of the three (3) years of the required experience must be within the last five (5) years, or two (2) years within the last ten (10) years. Up to two (2) years of the required experience may be substituted (with additional approval) of related post high school education, apprenticeship program, or college preparation course work.
