Being an Instructor - English provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - English typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research.     Department Opening: Arts and Humanities

    The English program is seeking a part-time English adjunct instructor for the 2023-2024 academic year; to start January 2024. Successful candidates will have a strong commitment to undergraduate education, student engagement and research, as well as service to the college and community. Marian University is an institution that values innovative teaching, advising and mentoring.

    Teaching responsibilities include courses each semester, as demand requires. Candidates should exhibit skill and enthusiasm in teaching undergraduates.

    Among the areas we may have openings are Expository Writing, Argumentative and Research writing, as well as various literature and writing intensive courses.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Teach courses throughout the curriculum in the undergraduate English and writing program in on-campus in-person delivery method at our Fond du Lac, WI campus. There may also be opportunities to teach in an online or hybrid modality.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Master’s in English or closely related field of study; terminal degree in the discipline is preferred.

    Preferred qualifications include:

    • Experience with Higher-Education teaching, both in-person and online modalities.
    • Experience in learning management system platforms.
