Instructor - English teaches courses in the discipline area of English. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - English provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - English typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Greenville Technical College English department in the School of Arts & Sciences invites applications for Instructors/Assistant Professor.
The department serves approximately 7,000 students in an academic year. Currently the department employs 20 full-time faculty and 16 part-time instructors. The English department is fully committed to offering high quality education in composition courses and business writing, as well as a variety of literature courses including American and British literature, world and minority literature, short fiction, children's and women's studies, and creative writing.
The department offers its courses in three formats: traditional, hybrid, and online. In addition, the department offers Honors English Courses and also participates in the Early College Program, which provides high school students access to college courses.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A Doctorate or a Master's degree with a major in English OR a Doctorate or a Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in English
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Have the ability to work with colleagues/students and to convey knowledge in a form that students can understand. * Adaptable to students' needs, to different teaching situations, and be able to motivate students. * Able to work in teams and independently. * Previous teaching experience.
