Instructor - English teaches courses in the discipline area of English. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - English provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - English typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research.     Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    * Two years of teaching experience using interactive teaching techniques.
    * Experience using assessment techniques to promote teaching and learning excellence.
    * Demonstrated experience with current pedagogical and instructional methods.
    * Demonstrated experience with utilizing a variety of classroom technologies, both inside and outside the classroom.
    * Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with all constituencies of a diverse community.
    * Demonstrated interest in and passion for teaching community college students.
    * Ability to work well with others.
    * Strong oral and written communication skills.
    * Ability to use information technology for professional productivity (such as Microsoft Office Suite).
    * Understanding and use of current English composition pedagogy
    * Experience teaching all levels of composition including developmental

    Work Hours
    Normally scheduled Monday through Friday; however, may be required to work other shifts to include evenings and/or weekends. Schedule subject to change based upon department needs.

    This position is a full-time position.
    Compensation Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Special Instructions to Applicants
    PLEASE NOTE: This position is contingent on budget-appropriated funding. Position available Fall 2024 unless otherwise approved.
