Instructor - History teaches courses in the discipline area of history. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - History provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - History typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research.      Other Conditions: For placement in lecturer pool beginning Fall 2023, Spring 2024, and Summer 2024. Positions are part-time, temporary, non-tenure, and contingent upon course offerings, sufficient student enrollment, position clearance, and availability of funds.
     
     Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Teach undergraduate History courses or equivalent.
    2. Other related duties, including preparing course syllabus, grading, contributing assessment data, and maintaining at least one office hour per week for each History course taught.

     
     Minimum Qualifications

    1. Advanced to candidacy (ABD) status as PhD student in History (or closely related field).
       
       

    Desirable Qualifications

    1. PhD in History (or closely related field)
    2. Subject area expertise as evidenced by coursework, publications, or other academic and professional activity
    3. Prior university teaching experience, demonstrated teaching ability
