EMPLOYMENT NOTICE 

The Shenandoah Valley Governor’s School is a regional school serving 235 juniors and seniors from seven public high schools in Augusta County, Staunton, and Waynesboro. Students attend this shared day, intensive, and selective program in the sciences or in the arts and humanities. See www.svgs.k12.va.us  for more information about the school.

Applications and resumes are now being accepted for the following anticipated teaching opening for the 2024-25 school year. 

2024-25 Available Position

ENGINEERING Instructor

            SHENANDOAH VALLEY GOVERNOR’S SCHOOL

Qualifications for the position include:  

1. Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or related field required (Master’s Degree preferred).
2. Interest in providing students intensive experience in hands-on lab work, problem solving, design, and advanced technology.
3. Growth mind-set with interest in life-long learning, professional development, and collaboration.
4. Teaching Experience or minimum of five years experience in an engineering or related position preferred.
5. Qualify for a Virginia Teaching License

The SVGS sciences program emphasizes “practical and professional” experiences.  Courses in the sciences program are based on problem solving, critical analysis, applications, and communication. Technology is embedded heavily in all courses.  

This is a fulltime position to begin 2024-25 school year.   Salary based on a 220 day, 7.5 hours day teacher contract scale.   Qualified candidates should submit an on-line application(www.augusta.k12.va.us) and attach a resume.  Position open until filled.
